Arlo Guthrie
США
Добавлен 16 июл 2006
When Jackie Guthrie left this world in 2012 she left millions of RUclips viewers enjoying the videos she'd uploaded of her family and friends. We are now attempting to restore her work that spanned over four decades. As the rights and restrictions have changed, her creativity has frequently run into legal brick walls - Although all she really wanted to do was to share the joy she'd captured of people she knew and loved. Little by little we - her family - are making those videos available again to everyone throughout the world. In addition we are continuing to add our own videos to her vast collection. We hope you will continue to enjoy it all in the spirit in which it was created.

From "THE GUTHRIE FAMILY RIDES AGAIN" tour, Arlo didn't do this song until he sprang it on them this night! Jacklyn steps out in time and dances with delight and you can tell that SHE LOVED THIS SONG! She's the little star in this one. BTW, she was only 9 years old. Check out Olivia with her blue dress, cowboy hat & guitar! That gave me a great big wide, long lasting smile! My Serene Serena on ...

Olivia Nora Irion, we call her Oni, is the star of this show. I made a clip and showed it to her mom, Sarah Lee and she said, "What is my daughter doing?" And we both were in hysterics laughing. It is so freaking funny. I got permission from Oni to upload this to You Tube. She didn't care if her friends laughed at this, in fact she encourages it. BTW, that was Amy Nelson next to Cathy Guthrie, ...

LIVE at The Guthrie Center, September 3, 2011. Someone canceled two days before the gig and George had to find someone to fill Friday and Saturday. We scrambled to get it together and the shows were SOLD OUT! Arlo did it solo this time. What a great show! LIVE @ The Guthrie Center, August 7, 2011. Annie wrote this beautiful song from the depth of her heart! Video Filmed and Produced by: Jackie Guthrie
A beautiful song and more important a significant reminder about life. Congrats to Mrs. Chaplin for her insight of a wife and mother. We all appreciate it!
I was lucky enough to catch Arlo's show at a small honky tonk in a St. Louis suburb back in the 1980s. How the hell he got booked for that gig, I'll never know, but my table was 6 feet from him on stage there. He gave us, that small crowd, as great a show as any I've seen him do for the biggest crowds possible. Bless you, Arlo.
Wonderful!!! Arlo, the king of eliciting audience participation, displaying his best here with such a beautiful song. Wonderful!
Carlo, can talk the legs off a chair.
Great Arlo!!..
This is such a wonderfully evocative song,im English and i love it.
With love for everyone and gratitude for the experience of living in a very special time on this earth, I see an era ending and a new one beginning. I'll leave it to those more eloquent to fill in the the details. I enjoyed this show!
Typical Arlo story style but these 3 together made me roar- 😂 made my day lol
It is not Trump's land.
God bless America. As simple as that.
Goodman, Guthrie ❤
Fathers, son. Amen
I never seen somebody talk so much during a song.
Couldn't help falling in love with you Arlo all those many years ago. Be well........
The talent on stage for this song is incredible. Oh to have been in the audience for this 1993 concert! Thanks Pete (rip) thanks Arlo and family!
Hey good song.
Thank you, Mark ❤
My friend had the pleasure of sitting next to your dad in court in Massachusetts . My friend got caught being overweight with his truck. THIS has just GOT to be the great rendition of this song EVER. I cry whenever I hear it. THANK YOU SO MUCH for the tears. There IS no music like this ANYMORE. WONDERFUL 👏😢 😢😢
I do times 1,000! Arlo is a great entertainer and singer.
Yep
He wii be missed😊
Arlo😊 is a nat treasure😊😊
Praise God for him😊
This is another great example of the Guthrie family tradition of keeping it going. Arlo's son on keyboards, his granddaughters on backup vocals. Hopefully we can keep of the great tradition through another generation
Even the Hippiest of Hippies gets it
O my life that harmonica had me full!
This is what music is all about, performers and audience sharing sounds and realizing we're all one. It doesn't get any better than this. It's awfully hard to have hope these days, but every time I listen to this, I know humanity is going to be OK. Thanks Arlo and Pete!
This is my grandon's and i. Song.
A timeless classic sang by an immortal. I had the honor and pleasure to see he perform it. Not only was he there, but so was John Prime. I felt so blessed!!!
Don't I wish I had experienced that! Glad I can watch this video...over and over again! Hello, America, how are ya🤗
@@luciooliveira2935 Du n Fyn😁
this may be the true American anthem.
These times seem like another eon, I've no idea what this world is today , feels like endless anger
Just seeing this for the first time, although I've loved Sailing Down My Golden River for a long time now. I hope this performance helped raise money for the Clearwater crew. I met Pete on the Clearwater when they came to my home town many years ago on Long Island Sound, and it's one of the great experiences of my life.
I'm a military veteran and this song got me through Iraqi Freedom...I would listen to it every morning before my mission and would think about my beautiful country -- the USA. This song gave me the spirit, strength and courage to face each mission! Wow -- thank you sir!!
Thank you for your service. I have family who are veterans and I have the upmost respect for our troops. Welcome back home ❤🇺🇸
Thank you for your service and God bless you 🙏🏻
Brovvo for you you gt the freedom in your bones. Rock on.
Thank you for your service. So glad you made it home...God bless..
I'm listening. It's a privilege to hear
That's the most passionate, natural, version of this song I've ever heard!
This just came across my feed tonight! What an AMAZING beautiful song! I lived this incredible music!❤
Every Thanksgiving Arlo & Pete Seeger would do a concert at Carnegie Hall, never missed any concert. I lived 3 houses down from Woody in Coney Island.
I was lucky enough to hire Steve in 1973 for a concert at Harper College (Chicago). I was the MC. Bob Gibson was the opening act. Steve and I enjoyed several alcoholic beverages before his performance, to the point that when he went on stage, he forgot the words to "City of New Orleans" TWICE and had to start over, But the crowd was on their feet and it became a huge Sing-a-Long.
I bet Arlo was a mischievous child.
Mr. Guthrie.. Love & prayers that you are well !! 🥰
Wonderful 🎉🎉
This song... this song is a picture of a passing Americana with the words painting a picture of what we are missing these days... as like many you got to wonder down the road in the years ahead if they would be able to see the same picture and knowing their meaning...
